This policy applies to every visitor, wherever you are.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small, simple file sent along with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on your computer or another device. The information in it may be returned to our servers, or to the servers of the relevant third parties, during a later visit.
A script is a piece of program code that makes the website work properly and interactively. It runs on our server or on your device. A web beacon, sometimes called a pixel tag, is a small invisible piece of text or image used to monitor traffic.
The four categories
We group cookies into four categories. The first is always on. The other three are yours to choose, and nothing in them is set until you allow it.
Strictly necessary
These make the website work and cannot be switched off. They remember your choice so you are not asked again on every page, and keep you signed in if you have an account with us. We place them without asking, because the site cannot function without them.
Performance
These count visits and tell us which pages are read, so we can see what is useful and what is not. They tell us nothing that identifies you personally. We ask your permission before placing them.
Functional
These remember what you have already told us, so a form you return to does not start from nothing and an enquiry you have already sent is not asked for twice. We ask your permission before placing them.
Advertising
These let us measure which campaigns bring people to the site, and show our advertising to people who have visited before. They are set by our advertising partners, who may combine this with information they already hold. We ask your permission before placing them.
We do not embed social media content. There are no Facebook, Instagram, X or LinkedIn share widgets on this site, and no embedded video that sets cookies — so there is no social media category to choose.

Retention periods are those stated by each provider and may change without notice to us.
Your consent
The first time you visit, we show a notice at the foot of the page explaining that we use cookies. You can accept all categories, or open Cookie settings and choose which to allow. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you make that choice.
You can reopen Cookie settings at any time and change your mind. Turning a category off stops those cookies being set from then on; cookies already stored can be removed in your browser, as described below.
Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies
You can use your browser to delete cookies automatically or by hand, and to refuse certain cookies altogether. You can also set your browser to warn you each time a cookie is placed. The Help section of your browser explains how.
Please note that the website may not work properly if all cookies are disabled. If you delete cookies in your browser, they will be placed again — after your consent — the next time you visit.
Your rights
You have the right to know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it, and how long it will be kept. You also have:
- Right of access — to see the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — to add to, correct, delete or block your personal data whenever you wish
- Right to withdraw consent — where you gave consent, to take it back and have your data deleted
- Right to transfer your data — to obtain your personal data and move it to another controller
- Right to object — to object to our processing, which we will honour unless there are justified grounds to continue
